Being in pain or unhappy with your smile can impact your entire daily life. At Legacy Dental, we want to get you out of pain and feeling confident about your smile. Our friendly team uses all their skills and experience to offer high-tech treatments designed to enhance your oral health.
Dr. Campbell has put together a series of corrective solutions ranging from simple metal-free fillings to full mouth rehabilitation. Whatever you need, our doctors ensure you feel comfortable, confident, and informed before starting any treatment.
Modern Solutions for Your Oral Health
One of the most common restorative procedures is a tooth filling. This is normally required when a cavity takes shape, and the tooth needs reinforcing. Cavities are caused by tooth decay, which forms when daily hygiene habits are forgotten, and dental check-ups are missed.
The good news is that our team of experts can restore your tooth with a filling in one simple visit. What’s more, our office only uses metal-free fillings. These natural-looking restorations match the color of your teeth and are free of any dangerous metal or mercury. Plus, we only use the highest rated materials, which are annually evaluated to ensure quality.
A filling is placed by firstly removing decay and plaque from the site. We then numb the area and isolate the tooth using a dental dam or an Isolite. The tooth is cleaned and the new composite material placed and shaped. The material is hardened by curing it with a special light. Then your bite is adjusted and the restoration polished.
Missing a tooth can bring on real anxiety and can go on to cause many additional dental problems. If dental implants are not the right option for you, then a dental bridge is a great alternative. Dental bridges consist of two crowns either side of an artificial tooth. The crowns are used to stabilize the new tooth when it is used to replace the gap in your smile.
Your restorative dentist then places the bridge, checks the fit, makes adjustments, and ensures it is stable in your mouth. The crowns are then bonded into place, acting as an anchor for your new tooth. Your bridge restores the function and aesthetics of your smile. It can be cared for as you would your healthy teeth and is checked during each six-month exam.
Unfortunately, there are times when your tooth is beyond saving. In these instances, a tooth extraction may be the best course of action to restore your oral health.
When extractions are required, our Legacy dentists both have the technology and technique to make it as comfortable as possible.
To begin, we clean and numb the area around the tooth. Although the numbing agent ensures no pain, our more nervous patients do have access to our sedation options, if preferred. Next, the tooth is gently prepared for extraction and then removed.
After removal, our team cover the area to keep it clean and discuss the next steps. We’ll explain more about our replacement options such as dental implants or a dental bridge.
With an estimated 22 million Americans suffering from sleep apnea, this disorder could be affecting your family. Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder typified by the following symptoms:
- Pauses in breath while sleeping
- Poor sleep patterns
The reason for this is found in the characteristics of sleep apnea. When suffering from this disorder, you experience your airway closing during sleep. Your sleep is interrupted and leads to the symptoms listed above.
Dr. Campbell can work with your physician to see if a dental appliance is an ideal treatment for you, to help you breathe better while sleeping.
If left untreated sleep apnea can lead to more severe problems such as high blood pressure, heart failure, and stroke.
Inlays & Onlays
On occasion, a dental filling is not sufficient to repair your damaged tooth. When this is the case, our doctors may recommend inlays or onlays. These beautiful restorations are specifically used to replace missing or damaged parts of your natural tooth.
When trauma or decay affects the chewing surface of the tooth, an inlay is used. It is a custom-made restoration designed using 3D impressions to replace the damaged part of your tooth.
Onlays incorporate a larger area of your tooth. In the same way, inlays replace the damaged part of the tooth, onlays can restore the tooth surface including the cusp.
Both restorations are created using our CEREC® same-day technology. This digital equipment allows us to use top quality, tooth-colored materials to repair your smile.
Full Mouth Rehabilitation
If you have not been to the dentist for a while or have experienced severe oral trauma, you may need multiple restorative and cosmetic procedures to repair your smile. When this is the case, full mouth rehabilitation may be the best option for you.
There is no need to feel anxious if you need multiple services, our kind team is here to help. We won’t lecture you or judge, but rather will outline a unique plan to restore your smile. This may include:
