6 Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures that could craft your beautiful smiles

If your smile isn't what it used to be or what you want it to be, you might want to consider a smile makeover. This is the process of using one or more cosmetic dental procedures to improve the appearance of your smile. The team at Legacy Dental is here to support your cosmetic dental needs and goals.

When your tooth becomes cracked, broken, or damaged due to trauma or decay, a dental crown is often the ideal solution. This common restoration offers both functional and cosmetic benefits to your smile.

A dental crown is similar to a cap, which is custom-made to protect your damaged tooth. The crown is created using modern technology by our partner dental lab, Keating Dental Arts. Using tooth-colored materials, your state-of-the-art crown is designed to the desired shape and shade and will fit comfortably onto your tooth.

Suffering from single or multiple tooth loss? Legacy Dental offers dental implants to close any gap in your smile. Dental implants are replacement teeth that could take the position and function of your natural tooth. At our dentist's office in Salt Lake City, we consider them an excellent treatment for restoring your smile. A dental implant is a predictable way to replace missing teeth without damaging other teeth.

Teeth bonding, also known as dental bonding, is a tooth restoration procedure that uses a composite resin material to improve and enhance your smile. It's used to repair chipped teeth, close gaps between teeth, or change the shape/color of a tooth. The resin is colored to match the natural color of your teeth, so it blends in.

Do you dream of having a smile free of stains and discoloration? Would you love to see a stunning smile every time you look in the mirror? With teeth whitening at Legacy Dental, you can brighten the shade of your teeth and remove stains in a single visit.

Ten smile Imperfections that could be overcome through cosmetic dentistry

If your smile gets blemished through any of the following dental imperfections, don't fret. Our cosmetic dentists and team help you overcome these smile imperfections through a range of smile makeover procedures.

  1. A tooth that differs in color from the teeth next to it. If you want to have an excellent smile, you want Uniformity of color in teeth that blend well with one another!
  2. Yellow and discolored teeth don’t win people over. What exactly is too yellow? Answering that question is difficult. However, if you feel as though your teeth never look white and worry you have yellow teeth, then the odds are excellent that they are indeed too yellow.
  3. Small teeth can be problematic. If your teeth are longer than they are wide, then a cosmetic dentistry dentist can help you.
  4. Another standout imperfection is teeth that follow the general shape of your lower lip.
  5. Showing too much gum instantly draws people’s eyes to your smile and in a bad way.
  6. Healthy gums should not look red or inflamed, and you can be sure that people will notice when your gums don’t look healthy. Red or inflamed gums usually indicate oral health problems that can eventually lead to tooth loss. If you have this dental problem, get help immediately.
  7. If you have gums that are not symmetrical, you can be sure that people are going to notice.
  8. Crowded and overlapping teeth never look good. For example, no one gets braces so that he or she can have crowded or overlapping teeth.
  9. Gaps between your teeth are problematic but can be corrected with orthodontics and other cosmetic dentistry procedures.
  10. A missing tooth or teeth will always stand out. In short, no one will miss your missing teeth!

Affordable Cosmetic Dentistry Is Possible

Affordable cosmetic dentistry is possible. When most people express an interest in cosmetic dentistry, they are often told that they need at least six or more veneers or crowns. With the fee for a crown or veneer being more than $800, cosmetic dentistry becomes expensive very quickly.

Affordable cosmetic dentistry can be accomplished by identifying the specific things that detract from the appearance of your smile and addressing those specific concerns. If one tooth is discolored, we can treat that single tooth, or maybe you could do teeth whitening and repair one or two teeth. The key is to identify those things that will make the biggest difference.

Another thing to consider is that there are other ways to improve the appearance of your smile. Teeth can be reshaped, bonded, whitened, moved with a retainer, or straightened. These alternatives are less expensive than veneers. There are lots of ways to do affordable cosmetic dentistry.

It may mean accepting some compromises, but generally, the results of affordable cosmetic dentistry will make a significant difference.

Finally, we have lots of payment options to make sure that affordable cosmetic dentistry fits your budget.

How Does Your Smile Measure Up?

Learn what's missing your missing in your smile and how cosmetic dentistry helps you beat the odds

These questions are what every cosmetic dentist considers when evaluating someone’s smile. You can use them to identify what things you might consider changing to improve your smile.

Are you showing the optimal amount of front teeth in your smile?

Our smile design evaluation begins with your lips relaxed and your mouth open about a half an inch. You should show anywhere from 1 to 5mm of your teeth. If you don’t show any teeth, your teeth are too short. If you reveal much more than 5mm, your teeth may be too long.

In these situation, you could benefit with our dental veneers to craft a seamless and beautiful smile.
The edges of your top teeth should follow the shape or curve of your lower lip.
If you have difficulty getting your lower lip over your front teeth. They may be too far forward.
Your gums are the frame for your smile. Uneven gums can be the result of misaligned teeth or receding gums. A periodontist look into your gums and create a much better smile that could elevate your life to a higher vibration!
This can be a little difficult to evaluate. But if your back teeth hang down lower than your front teeth, it makes you look mad or like you are frowning even when you’re smiling. If your back teeth are up higher than your front teeth, it can look like you don’t have any back teeth at all.
The most aesthetically pleasing tooth shape is one whose length is longer than its width. Teeth that are square look old and misshaped.
Let's talk about ideal dental alignment!
In the area in the middle of your teeth, you should be in line with the rest of your face. It should not slant to one side or the other.
Some people consider a smile unattractive when more than 3 to 5mm of gum tissue shows when smiling.
Your teeth should all be nearly the same color or shade with your eye teeth or canine teeth possibly being a little darker. As a rule, your teeth should be white, but not whiter than the whites of your eyes.

If your teeth gets crowded, they might be constricting each others growth. Once our cosmetic dentist diagnose the problem,  we use teeth straighteners to remove the over crowding of teeth and have a better smile.

  • ‘‘We have had nothing but the best care from DR. CAMPBELL! We trust him fully with our dental care. One Sunday, a few months ago, he went on and beyond the extra mile by coming in to take care of our son’s bad abscessed tooth. We highly recommend him to friends and family. The entire staff is very friendly, helpful and professional.’’

They are efficient, kind, compassionate, professional, and honest. Their billing folks are top notch. I’ve recommended other people to them and they also agree. Legacy Dental is worth the long drive. ’’
